Theatre of the Dolls

Teatr Lalek (Theatre of the Dolls or Wroclaw Puppet Theatre) is best known by English speakers as The Wroclaw Puppet Theatre. It was established in 1946, principally as a childrens' entertainment theatre, which also toured the villages of Lower Silesia.

Adults should note however that performances these days are a tad more sophisticated than Sooty and Sweep - more recent shows include interpretations of the works of Goethe, Shakespeare, Schulz and Kafka no less. The theater has two permanent scenes. There are performances for children, festivals and other art initiatives. The theatre travels to other countries and wins awards. Wroclaw Puppet Theatre is located at the Theater Square in the old building of merchants association, next to the Old Town Garden and public baths.

Address: 4 Teatralny Square [Operas & Theatres]
